A little bit about me
My journey to breastfeeding support work began with the birth of my eldest child in early 2007. At the time, I was blessed with an amazingly supportive community of both lay and professional breastfeeding counseling. Those experiences ignited a passion in me to give back even just a little bit of what I had received.
In 2013 I began my studies at Union Institute and University with a major in Maternal and Child Health: Human Lactation. I graduated in 2015 as an Advanced Lactation Consultant (ALC), and sat for the IBCLC exam in April of 2016. I went on to pursue a master's certificate in Health Education and Promotion. I am certified in basic life support as well as infant and adult CPR.
I am the mother of four beautiful breastfed children and stepmother to one grown stepdaughter. I live with my husband, children, four cats, and a dog in Bennington, VT.
